Hepatitis C during pregnancy is associated with increased complications such as gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, premature birth, and low birth weight. Implementing evidence-based strategies for preventing, screening, and treating Hepatitis C can improve maternal and neonatal outcomes.
By enhancing awareness, facilitating open communication, and offering empathic care, we can create an environment that empowers birthing individuals. It is crucial to develop comprehensive solutions that not only address the medical aspects of Hepatitis C antenatal and postpartum but also provide the necessary emotional support and reassurance to these mothers.
