We are excited to announce the new round of scholarships for the LTC-CIP and CIC training and testing program. This initiative is designed to support professionals in advancing their knowledge and skills in infection prevention and control. Training costs will be covered up to $795.00, and testing fees up to $410.00. Successful candidates will gain certification highlighting their expertise and dedication to maintaining high standards in healthcare settings. We encourage all eligible candidates to apply and take advantage of this valuable opportunity to enhance their professional development in infection control.

LTC-CIP Scholarship Program Requirements

  1. Responsible for infection prevention and control programs in a long-term care setting (attestation form required).
  2. Completed post-secondary education in a health-related field (e.g., medicine, nursing, lab technology, public health, biology).
  3. CBIC recommends but does not require, one year of full-time infection prevention experience before the LTC-CIP exam.
  4. Meet NJDOH OLTCR qualifications: background in nursing, medical technology, microbiology, or public health.
  5. Priority is given to professionals living or working in New Jersey.

CIC Scholarship Program Requirements

  1. Completed post-secondary education in a health-related field (e.g., medicine, nursing, laboratory technology, public health, biology) from any accredited institution.
  2. Responsible for infection prevention and control programs/activities in a healthcare setting.
  3. Background in medicine, nursing, laboratory technology, public health, or biology with at least one year of full-time or two years of part-time infection prevention work experience within the last three years.
  4. Priority given to professionals living or working in New Jersey.

Please note, if you were previously awarded a CIC (Certification in Infection Control) scholarship from Rutgers Project ECHO and did not pass the CIC exam, you are not eligible to retake the CIC exam. However, your application may be reviewed for eligibility to take the CIP-LTC (Certification in Infection Prevention and Control in Long Term Care) exam.
